With more than 50 years of children's entertainment it's easy to see how the Melikin Puppet Theatre has amassed so many productions. Each production has its own cast of original Melikin creations. They are hand made using the polyfoam technique*. The puppets are large, colorful and designed to portray a specific character. The puppet population numbers well over 375 characters that range in size from a 4-inch bird (Fidrick) to a 35-foot long authentic Chinese Dragon. The Melikins have conducted seminars and workshops for puppeteers at national festivals.
* Most shows use puppets with the polyfoam technique. Oldder productions used latex head hand puppets. These are noted in the show descriptions.
The shows listed are divided into two categories and are listed chronologically:

Major Productions - Shows that have a runtime between 40 and 50 minutes

Short Stories - Shows that have a runtime between 10 and 30 minutes
Each show has been cataloged and an inventory list is provided. Click on the "Inventory Sheet" box to see the inventory sheet and more information for that show. All shows come with a soundtrack. The Melikins used professional voice actors and were produced at recording studios. Music and sound effects were meticulously chosen and edited to complete the soundtrack. Rehearsal videos were made for several shows and are noted on the inventory sheet when available.

The Melikins would always try to keep their audiences entertained... even before the show. That's why they put together "Pre Show Music" for general use and Christmas shows. These are available upon request when purchasing a show.
